School Choice Funding Resources for Arizona Families

Arizona offers several school choice funding programs to help families cover tuition costs:

  1. Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) Program

    • Provides approximately $7,000 per student annually for private school tuition, tutoring, and educational expenses.

Henrietta Scholarship

A faith-based scholarship awarded to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to their Christian faith and values.

Mae Scholarship

An academic excellence scholarship for students who exhibit exceptional academic achievements and a passion for learning.

Israel Scholarship

A scholarship for first-generation students who are striving to pursue higher education with the goal of inspiring others through Christ.

Scholarship Details

  • Number of Scholarships: Three scholarships awarded annually (one for each category).

  • Amount: Scholarships cover up to 50% of tuition costs for the academic year.

  • Eligibility: Students in grades 6-12.

How Scholarships Work

  1. Application Period: Scholarship applications open in February and close on March 31.

  2. Review Process: Applications are reviewed by a scholarship committee, which considers the student's essay, application materials, and eligibility.

  3. Award Notification: Recipients will be notified by April 30. Scholarships will apply to tuition for the following academic year.

How to Apply

To apply for a scholarship, follow these steps:

  1. Complete the Scholarship Application Form
    Access the application form on our website under the "Scholarships" section.

  2. Submit Required Documents

    • A personal essay (500 words) addressing the specific scholarship you are applying for:

      • Henrietta: Describe your faith journey and how you live out your Christian values.

      • Mae: Share your academic achievements and goals for the future.

      • Israel: Explain your journey as a first-generation student, your goals for pursuing higher education, and how you aim to inspire others through Christ.

    • One letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or community leader.

    • A copy of your most recent report card or transcript.

  3. Email Your Application
    Send the completed application and documents to scholarships@porteracademy.com with the subject line: "Scholarship Application - [Your Name]".

  4. Confirmation:
    Once your application is received, you will receive an email confirmation.
